The Code was laid in Parliament on 21 May 2026. If neither House rejects it within roughly 40 days, it becomes statutory guidance. It bars trans people from single-sex spaces aligned with how they live, and strips trans women out of the legal definition of "lesbian" (paragraphs 2.50 + 2.92 of the Code).
