Write
the Letter,
Babes.

Parliament has until ~30 June to stop the new EHRC Code. Then it becomes law. Your MP can object. They won't unless you ask.

Days left to act

The Code was laid in Parliament on 21 May 2026. If neither House rejects it within roughly 40 days, it becomes statutory guidance.

It bars trans people from single-sex spaces aligned with how they live. It strips trans women out of the legal definition of "lesbian" (paragraphs 2.50 + 2.92 of the Code).

How to personalise

  1. Replace [MP's name] with the name from the Parliament site.
  2. Replace [your full name and postal address] at the top. MPs cannot respond without a verified constituent address.
  3. Replace [your identity, if you want to share] with one or two words, or delete the line.
  4. Replace [one sentence about how this makes you feel] with something specific to you. A name. A friend. A bathroom you stopped using. Specific letters get read. Form letters get filed.
  5. Sign off with your real name.

2. Sign the petition

The most-signed live petition in this space. Concentrating signatures here is better than starting a new one with a 40-day fuse.

Sign petition 760382 Open until 30 September 2026.

3. Read the full story

The long version. Paragraph numbers from the Code, sources, what 'lesbian' now legally means under the new guidance.

The more constituents email, the harder it is for MPs to wave this through under the negative procedure.
